About Weight loss resolutions blog

It’s the time of year when people make resolutions to lose weight and get healthier. Resolutions are a great idea but they can be tough to stick with throughout the year. There are ways to make resolutions that you can actually work with and not leave behind in the busyness of everyday life. A good resolution has short term goals with a reachable long term goal. Start with small changes and not a complete overhaul of diet and exercise which can be too overwhelming to keep up with.

If you’re new to exercising start out slow. You don’t have to sign up for a pricey gym membership as soon as January 1st arrives. Get out and walk or jog for 15 minutes a day. As you start to feel better and look better you’ll likely want to increase your workout length and vary your workouts. If you’d rather workout at home, an elliptical or treadmill with a few dumbbells and small free weights can provide a versatile workout. DVDs for things like yoga or Pilates can be a great way to start the day. If you get up 20 minutes early and begin the day with exercise it can actually help you get through the rest of the day with more energy and a better attitude.

A healthy diet is essential to losing weight and feeling better overall. Eating healthy does not have to mean being hungry or never having tasty food. When you eat 5-6 small meals a day you actually never get very hungry which often leads to overeating. Snacking on healthy food like fruits and nuts is a great way to keep hunger at bay and give an energy boost.

Weight loss resolutions can be a good thing when they present realistic goals. Just remember losing weight and getting fit takes time. Set small goals that are reachable. When you reach you’re goal you’ll feel even more motivated to set another.
